COVID RT-PCR Test Negative Report With QR Code Mandatory For Global Travel. To ensure the genuineness of the COVID 19 RT-PCR Test report produced by the travelers, all passengers traveling outside of India are mandated to have a negative Covid-19 (RT-PCR Test) report with a valid QR Code which could be tracked to the originality and genuineness of the report.
Passengers without valid RT-PCR Test Report with QR Code may not be allowed to board the flight.
The new requirement is put forward since some of the travelers have produced fake COVID 19 test reports to pass through the country. It is not known whether these passengers were later tested positive. If so they would have been a threat to those who traveled with an original negative test report.
“The airline operators are advised to accept only those passengers who are carrying a negative RT-PCR test report with QR code for boarding international flights departing from India after 0001 hours on 22nd May 2021,” said the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).
Air India also released a statement recently on the same “Effective 22nd May 2021, passengers carrying negative RT-PCR report as per the requirement of their destination country, must ensure that the report has a QR code linking to the original report.”
This rule is mandatory for any traveler who are required to furnish a negative COVID 19 RT-PCR Test certificate while travelling to any foreign country.
Even though most of the countries have completely banned flights from India, there are some countries that allows passengers from India to travel to their country under strict COVID guidelines that includes a valid COVID 19 RT-PCR Test negative certificate(now with QR Code mandatory) and quarantine for up to 14 days.
