India Extends Ban On International Flights Till June 30. The Indian Government on Friday extended the ban on International Flights till 30 June, 2021. The notification was released in a circular by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The ban which was supposed to end by 31st of May, 2021 after a long 14 month gap was further extended due to the prevailing situation in the country.
Restrictions are not applicable to international cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA (Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubbles arrangement)
“In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of the circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of 30th June 2021. This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA,” the DGCA circular mentioned.
However, International Scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority in case there is any immediate requirement, the circular further claimed.

Air Bubble Arrangements
India has made bilateral air bubble agreements with around 28 countries across the world. The list includes Maldives, Nepal, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Ukraine, UAE, UK, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Uzbekistan and United States.
India is also operating flights under Vande Bharat mission in order to enable Indians in other countries to return to India safely as and when required.
It is worth mentioning that several nations including Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, New Zealand, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and UAE had banned travel to and from India due to the rising COVID 19 cases in India.
