We headed towards Dhanushkodi after having the typical Tamil Nadu Style Breakfast from our hotel. Dhanushkodi is around 18 minutes drive from our hotel. The drive is extremely awesome with newly tarred straight roads where one can maintain a speed of around 80 kmph. We headed towards the tip Arichal Munai / Ram Setu View point where one can get a glimpse of the international boundary between india and Sri Lanka. There is also a small shore area or ram setu where one can stand and enjoy the slow waves!
From there we headed towards Dhanushkodi where we saw the remains of the Mini Singapore which was destroyed in the Cyclone in 1964. We also met some of the locals whose ancestors were present during the calamity and were able to talk to them. There are also some local shopping areas at Dhanushkodi. The demolished church and railway station of Dhanushkodi is also a must watch.
