My personal choice for staying for my future visits to Kozhikode would definitely be Malabar Palace Calicut mainly for their cleanliness and flawless services.

We booked the hotel room for Rs.1800 through makemytrip app and reached the hotel by around 9pm. At the reception the person was very polite and gave us a free upgrade to a balcony room. The best thing was that the room boy on duty whose name is Subramaniam(we came to know that later during check out), did not allow us to carry our heavy luggage. He told it is his duty and carried it till our room. Such customer service is very hard to find. About the room, it is very spacious with a nice balcony giving a glimpse of the town. The toilet was disinfected, clean, There is not even one flaw we could find in the room. Perfect. That’s what I can say about this hotel. I assure you you can get the best of services at pocket friendly rates.
