One fine morning we decided to go and visit the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple to seek the blessings from Lord Mahavishnu. The temple is a very ancient one which was started in the 8th century A.D during the Cholas and Cheras dynasty. However the build completion was done in 15th century by the Travancore kings.

We go there normally in the morning time(before 7am), so that there is not much rush there and we can get a more calm and peaceful atmosphhere. Also reaching by 7 am ensures that we don’t need to wait in long queues to get in.
Padmanabha swamy temple’s main deity is Maha Vishnu whose idol rests in an anantha shayanam posture(Sleeping posture on anantha). The lords hands rests over the siva linga. The temple is also the richest in the world with around 1.25 lakh crore of assets. The temple has 6 vaults out of which 5 is opened. The last one will not be opened since it is said to cause natural calamities if opened. Watch our video for more details!
Another speciality is that we got a new subscriber Gokul, after coming out of the temple. After seeing us doing a vlog he immediately asked which channel is ours and subscribed it. He made our day. Thanks Gokul chettan from Thrissur if you are reading this.
More details about the Temple :
The Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple located in Kerala’s state capital Thiruvananthapuram, India. The name of the city of Thiruvananthapuram in Malayalam translates to “The City of Lord Ananta”, referring to the deity of the Padmanabhaswamy temple. The temple is built in an intricate fusion of the Kerala style and the Dravidian style of architecture associated with the temples located in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu, featuring high walls, and a 16th-century gopura. While the Ananthapuram temple in Kumbla is considered the original seat of the deity (“Moolasthanam”), architecturally to some extent, the temple is a replica of the Adikesava Perumal temple in Thiruvattar.
The principal deity Padmanabhaswamy (Vishnu) is enshrined in the “Anantha Shayana” posture, the eternal yogic sleep on the serpent Adi Shesha. Padmanabhaswamy is the tutelary deity of the royal family of Travancore. The titular Maharaja of Travancore, Moolam Thirunal Rama Varma, is the trustee of the temple.
