RT-PCR Report Must Have QR Code From May 22 For International Travel. From May 22, 2021 onwards, all passengers who are traveling out from India are required to have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test from a valid approved lab with a QR code on it. This is to prevent fraud and fake reports from being presented while entering other countries. If any passenger fails to submit a valid negative RT-PCR test report with a QR code they would not be allowed to board the aircraft.
The new travel requirement is put forward since a significant number of travelers from India started to furnish false or fake negative RT-PCR reports to travel internationally.
National carrier Air India has announced the new update in a tweet on twitter and mentioned, “Update for International Passengers: Effective 22nd May 2021, passengers flying from India to international destinations requiring negative RT-PCR test report must have a QR code in their report to be eligible for boarding.”
Below is the tweet by Air India.
The new rule is applicable for all passengers who needs to produce a valid negative COVID 19 RT-PCR test report as requested by or as per the existing rules of the destination country rules. It has also been noted that a few agents has been arrested recently in lieu of selling fake COVID 19 RT-PCR test reports to travelers.
