Parakovil is one of the oldest temples in Trivandrum, which was said to be built by the Pancha pandavas for Panchali to worship Lord Krishna. The movie Pavakoothu starring Jayaram, Parvathy and Ranjini shows around 3-4 minutes of scenes at Parakovil, Trivandrum for the wedding of Jayaram and Ranjini(Prakash and Krishna). In the movie, Suryagayathri, Mohanlal and Urvashi are seen praying inside the temple. A shot is also shown where Lalettan and Urvashi come out of the exit of the temple. In My Dear Karadi, lead by Kalabhavan Mani, which is a comedy flick and revolves around the life of Mani chettan putting makeup and acting like a bear(karadi) and the happenings around him. The surroundings of Parakovil were shot when Prem Kumar(Kittunni, the hunter) tries to catch the bear(karadi) and save the local people.
