Travel Techies presents to you in a brand new YouTube Video Series – Malayalam Movie Shooting Locations, the various malayalam movie shooting locations in Kerala. Starting from Trivandrum, we have travelled to Idukki to shoot the locations of various malayalam movies. From Lalettan(Mohanlal) to Fahadh Faasil, Jayaram, Asif Ali, Lal and Kalabhavan Mani, we have tried to cover some of the most famous malayalam movie locations.
The idea of this series came into picture after we did a video on Kireedam Bridge a few days back! Since we are passionate about Travel and Movies, nothing more could be more apt for us than a travel video based on movies. So here we are with our new series Malayalam Movie Shooting Locations. We are planning to start with visiting shooting locations across Trivandrum and then later move on to other districts, states, countries etc
Kireedam Malayalam Movie Shooting Location | Kireedam Bridge | Vellayani | Punchakkari Trivandrum
Kireedam Bridge is one of the most famous spots in Trivandrum with its naming done after the famous Malayalam Movie Kireedam. The bridge remains as such after the renovation in the recent years and is a famous place to visit in Trivandrum with greenery and paddy fields all around.

Parakovil | My Dear Karadi, Pavakoothu, Suryagayathri | Malayalam Movie Shooting Locations
Parakovil in Vettamukku, Thirumala, Trivandrum has become the shooting location of popular movies like My Dear Karadi, Pavakkoothu and Soorya Gayathri. The scenes shot in the movies in the 80s and 90s still appear the same. The place is also close to our house. Parakovil is a very famous spot in Trivandrum. The Sreekrishna temple on the top of the hill at Thirumala is visited by thousands every year.
Thodupuzha | Drishyam Mohanlal House | Drishyam 2 | MALAYALAM MOVIE SHOOTING LOCATIONS
Thodupuzha is a very famous place in Kerala and is chosen by many directors who found success in their movies. Drishyam and Drishyam 2 are definitely one of them. The most highly grossing movie in Malayalam Film Industry was shot in Thodupuzha Idukki and we are at the location of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, to be precise, George Kutty’s house! The house remains the same as it was shot in Drishyam with few changes and we are showing all the scenes shot here and the locations.
Varathan Bungalow Vagamon | Malayalam Movie Shooting Locations
The super hit movie Varathan by Fahadh Faasil was shot in Varathan Bungalow in Vagamon, Kottayam, Kerala. Located among rubber plantations in Vagamon, the bungalow is a manager’s bungalow and is used for stay by tea plantation officials and is also given for rent at around 5000 per day. Almost 90% of the movie Varathan was shot here and no Malayali can forget this house where the famous Varathan climax was also fully shot!
Salt n Pepper Malayalam Movie Shooting Location
A Trivian’s movie or the movie of Trivandrum citizens – Salt and Pepper was almost completely shot in Trivandrum. The most remembered climax scene of the movie where Lal meets Shwetha Menon is shot at Trivandrum Museum(Napier Museum). Many places in Trivandrum are shown in the movie – like Jawahar Nagar, Thambanoor, Bakery Junction, Manacaud, Peroorkada, Kowdiar and many more!
Ashley Bungalow | Iyobinte Pusthakam Shooting Locations
Located in around 500 acres of plantation area in Kuttikkanam, Kottayam is the Ashley Bungalow where the famous movie of Fahadh Faasil – Iyobinte Pusthakam was shot. The famous dialog by Lal is remembered by everyone – ‘Aloshii Nee communist aano?’
In the movie the family of Iyob lives in this British built Bungalow where around 75% of the movie was shot. The bungalow is located in between rubber estates and it is a great place to spend a weekend out with family or friends. It is available for around Rs.35000 per day.
Aryanad | Kireedam Movie Climax Scene Shooting Location
The scene where Thilakan sir says Ninte achanada parayunne.. Kathi thaazhe idada to Lalettan remains in the hearts of Malayalees for ever. The much remembered climax of Kireedam movie was shot at Aryanad junction in Trivandrum. The tree and the junction almost remains the same even though it became bit modern now. Travel Techies is also showing the location where the fight between Keerikadan Jose and Mohanlal was shot. Aryanad has become the shooting location of multiple other movies too in Malayalam due to its greenery and village beauty.
Lucifer Movie Shooting Location | Chenkara Idukki
Travel Techies is at Chenkara, Idukki district, Lucifer Movie Shooting Location. Today we will take you through the malayalam movie shooting locations of the blockbuster malayalam movie Lucifer. This is the Chenkara house/ bungalow of Stephen Nedumbally. The bungalow is also known as Lucifer Mohanlal House. So once again welcome to Travel Techies and enjoy yet another Malayalam Movie Shooting Location. This is where Lalettan(Lucifer/Stephen Nedumbally/Esthappan/Esthachan) lives along with the orphans that he gives refuge to. The famous scene where Mohanlal gets angry and stamps mayilvahanam(police officer) was also shot here.
Spadikam Movie Shooting Location | Changanassery Kottayam
Travel Techies presents to you the Malayalam Movie Shooting Locations of Spadikam Movie, one of the best hits of Lalettan(Mohanlal). So today’s video is on Spadikam Movie Shooting Location in Changanassery. There would be no Malayali in this world who doesn’t know Aadu Thoma or Chacko Maashu. Some of the best acting performances of Lalettan, Thilakan , Spadikam Geroge, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Rajan P Dev, Karamana Janardhanan Nair, KPAC Lalitha, Chippi, Ashokan can be seen in this movie.
The locations we are showing you is the club where Lalettan is seen playing cards with his friends. It is his second home. Then we are showing the house of Aadu Thoma and Chacko Mashu. Most of the scenes were shot in Changanassery Market which includes the intro fight, fights between Lalettan and Spadikam George(Kuttikkadan & Aadu thoma). The tailor shop where Chacko maashu and Adu thoma visits often is also there! So the building in the photo is the club of Aadu Thoma(Thommichan). Multiple scenes were shot at this place which makes it a memorable place known by the movie.
Ammachi Kottaram Kuttikkanam – Lucifer Malayalam Movie Shooting Location
Travel Techies is at Ammachi Kottaram Kuttikkanam – Lucifer Malayalam Movie Shooting Location where the famous fight scene in Lucifer movie was shot. Located in Kuttikkanam Peermade, Idukki district, is the shooting location of the blockbuster malayalam movie Lucifer. Travel Techies presents to you Lucifer Fight Scene Shooting Location. The famous fight scene of Lalettan(Mohanlal) as Stephen Nedumbally was shot here. Ammachi Kottaram is also the shooting location of multiple other malayalam, tamil movies including Carbon movie starring Fahadh Fasil and Mamtha Mohandas. We are presenting to you the palace, which was once used by Travancore kings for spending their summer vacation, now being the part of famous malayalam movies.
Maheshinte Prathikaram Shooting Location | Idukki Dam
Travel Techies is at Maheshinte Prathikaram Shooting Location in Prakash Idukki. The main locations we are presenting to you is Prakash and Idukki Dam. The movie Maheshinte Prathikaram starring Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali, Anusree, Soubin were shot at these locations. The climax was shot near Idukki Dam. The studio that Mahesh runs in the movie is located at Prakash Idukki. However the studio was set up as part of the movie shooting and has been demolished after the shooting of the movie. Unfortunately the Banyan tree at the centre of the junction was also cut recently. However the nearby shops and the bus stop remains as is.
